What happens to a part after molding
Here is what each operation does for your part, and what to tell us when you quote.
Insert molding
Insert molding combines metal and plastics, or multiple combinations of materials and components, into a single part. A threaded metal insert or a pin is placed in the mold, and the plastic is molded around it, so there is no separate step to fit it later.
Sonic welding
Sonic welding uses high-frequency sound waves and pressure to bond materials together, and requires less energy than conventional welding. It can join two molded plastic halves into one part without glue or screws.
Assembly
We assemble molded parts in the plant. Assembly in house can increase the efficiency and quality, and decrease the cost and time of the whole product manufacturing process.
Hot stamping
We offer hot stamping, which presses a colored foil onto the molded surface for a mark, a logo or a label.
Custom packaging
We offer custom packaging, and every part is inspected a second time during packaging, after the first check at the machine.
Molding and finishing under one roof
When the molding and the work after it happen in one plant, parts do not ship out to a second shop and back. Our finished parts leave from two sunken docks, two ground-level docks and three drop trailer sites, or on our own truck within 50 miles of Noblesville.
If your part needs an operation that is not listed here, ask about it on the quote form.

What to decide before quoting finishing work
Finishing work is quoted alongside the molding, so the quote is only as good as the description. For insert molding, say what the insert is, what it is made of, and whether you supply it or we buy it. For sonic welding, send both halves of the part, because the joint has to be designed into the mold.
For assembly, list the steps and any parts that are not molded. For packaging, give the count per box, the box, the label and how boxes go on the pallet. Every one of those details changes the time per part, and the time per part is most of the price.
Do you do insert molding?
Yes. We do insert molding: metal and plastic, or several materials and components, molded into a single part.
Can you pack parts to our count and label?
Yes. We offer custom packaging. Tell us the count, the box and the label on the quote form.
