Plastic materials we mold
We mold commodity plastics like polypropylene and polystyrene, engineering resins like ABS and nylon, and high-temperature resins such as PEEK and ULTEM.

The resins we mold
The table lists the resins we mold, with what each one is known for and where it is commonly used. It runs from commodity resins like polypropylene and polystyrene to engineering resins like ABS, nylon and polycarbonate.
We also mold high-temperature resins such as ULTEM and PEEK, and offer specialty additives and custom colors. Color is loaded right at the injection molding machine by Maguire auger loaders, so put the color you need on the quote form along with the resin.
| Resin | Known for, and common uses |
|---|---|
| ABS | Tough and impact resistant, holds its size well. Common in housings for tools and handheld devices. |
| Polycarbonate (PC) | Strong and very impact resistant; clear grades exist. Common in lenses, lighting and electrical parts. |
| Nylon and glass-filled nylon | Strong, holds strength when hot, especially with glass fill. Common in gears, bearings and structural parts. |
| Acetal (POM) | Stiff, hard and slippery. Common in gears, pump parts, conveyor links and knobs. |
| Polypropylene (PP) | Low cost, flexible, resists acids and bases. Common in living hinges and snap lids. |
| Polystyrene (PS) | |
| HDPE and LDPE | |
| PBT | Good electrical properties, resists fuels and oils. Common in appliance parts, handles and knobs. |
| PC-ABS, PVC, TPE | |
| ULTEM (PEI) and PEEK | High temperature, strong and stable. Common in medical, electrical and pump parts. |
| Polysulfone |

How to choose a material for your part
Start with what the part has to survive: impact, heat, chemicals, sunlight or wear. Then what it has to look and feel like, and what it can cost. A part that must be clear points to polycarbonate; a hinge that flexes thousands of times points to polypropylene; a gear points to acetal or nylon.
Not sure? Describe what the part does on the quote form and we will help you choose.
