Part and mold design before the mold is cut
We take a part from your file, or help you make the file, then check it with Moldflow before a production mold is cut. From initial design to finished product, you have complete control of your part.

Start with your file, or with a sketch
We design in SolidWorks and use Mastercam to run our CNC machines. While a STEP file is ideal, we can accept many different file types, including SolidWorks, Pro-E and IGES, and we will start from a sketch when a 3D model does not exist yet.
If you only have an idea, we help create the design. Design work is done by our team and the partners we work with. Accurate specifications early save time and design cost later, because every change after the mold is cut costs more than a change on screen.

Moldflow and stress analysis
Moldflow and stress analysis are part of our design work. A flow simulation shows how melted plastic fills the mold before any steel is cut, so problems can be fixed in the design instead of in the tool.
The analysis matters most on large parts and on molds with several cavities, where plastic has the farthest to travel. Fixing a weld line or a short shot on screen costs far less than reworking steel in the tool room after the mold is cut.
- Predict and address molding problems before the mold is built.
- Improve the part and mold design with specific recommendations.
- Balance the feed system so each cavity fills evenly.

What file types do you accept?
A STEP file is ideal. We also work with SolidWorks, Pro-E and IGES files, and with sketches if you do not have a 3D model yet.
Can you help design the part?
Yes. We accept finished design files and also help create the design, working in SolidWorks.
Do you run mold flow analysis?
Yes. We use Moldflow and stress analysis to predict molding problems, improve the part and mold design, and balance how plastic fills the mold.
