Current Openings

CAD/CAM Designer (1st Shift)
Burco is looking for an entry-level CAD/ CAM Designer/Engineer with machining experience.  This entry-level position is a great opportunity for a hands-on person.  Education and/or experience in injection molding and plastics desired. 

Position: ​
CAD/CAM Designer
Status: Full Time

Main Qualifications
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software
  • Experience in computer aided design & computer - aided manufacturing
  • Relies on experience & good judgment to plan & accomplish goals
  • Willing and able to be hands-on
  • A sense of creativity & latitude thinking is expected​

Requirements
  • High School diploma is required. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience operating CNC machines is required.
  • Experience operating milling machines, lathes, 3D printers and waterjets is preferred. 
  • Experience in CAD/CAM programming 
  • Basic understanding of reading and interpreting engineering drawings required. Use of Geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) is preferred. 
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
  • Must work with minimum supervision. 

Job Purpose
Manage new product projects from conception to production.  Design, modify, and apply components & systems using engineering methods & techniques to meet specified objectives on time.
Team Operator (All Shifts)
1st (8:00a.m. – 4:30p.m.), 2nd (4:00p.m. – 12:30a.m.), and 3rd (12:00a.m. – 8:30a.m.)
Tasks
  • Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Remove finished workpieces according to required machining sequences.
  • Check to ensure that workpieces are properly finished.
  • Review production specifications according to operations and sequencing, finished workpiece dimensions, or numerical control sequences.
  • Listen to machines during operation to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration

Required Abilities
  • Ability to stand and sit long periods of time
  • Ability to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents
  • Ability to write process related forms
  • Repetitive cutting & trimming
  •  Able to complete training checklist
  • Ability to determine color
  • Must be able to work full schedule shift.
Mold Technician
​Responsibilities
  • Mold Installation/Mold Removal
  • Relief Operator
  • Duties of Floor Personnel and Operators as needed
  • Ensure machine is producing quality products, according to the inspection criteria sheet
  • Perform other tasks or jobs requested by Supervisor
  • Perform good housekeeping
  • Assume Shift Supervisor responsibilities in their absence
  • Observe continuous operation of automatic machines to ensure that products meet specifications and to detect jams or malfunctions, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Set up, operate, or tend metal or plastic molding machines to mold or cast metal or thermoplastic parts or products.
  • Position and secure workpieces on machines, and start feeding mechanisms.
  • Turn valves and dials of machines to regulate pressure, temperature, and speed and feed rates, and to set cycle times.
  • Remove finished or cured products from dies or molds, using hand tools, air hoses, and other equipment, stamping identifying information on products when necessary.
  • Trim excess material from parts, using knives, and grind scrap plastic into powder for reuse.
  • Cool products after processing to prevent distortion.
  • Install dies onto machines or presses and coat dies with parting agents, according to work order specifications.

​MAINTENANCE JANITOr
Objective
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the
Maintenance Janitor is responsible for the upkeep of Burco. Primary job
responsibility is to maintain the building clean and in good working condition.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
  • Dusts and polishes furniture, woodwork and shelving, and empties and  cleans wastebaskets, ashtrays and windows to enhance work quality standards.
  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming and polish floors.
  • Cleans/disinfects sinks, walls, rest rooms, water fountains and replenish restroom supplies to enhance sanitary conditions.
  • Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
  • Follow safety requirements and procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Operates gasoline-powered lawnmowers, gas or electric blowers, pressure washers, weed eaters and the like to mow and edge grass, and trim trees.
  • Checks and changes as needed light bulbs and A/C filters.
  • Determines if a supervisor or designated maintenance technician needs to be consulted for guidance on specific tasks.
  • Follows detailed and specific oral and written instructions.
  • Performs moderately to considerably strenuous physical activity.
  • Performs a limited number of related tasks that are routine in nature and require some judgment or decision-making.
  • Operates various building and grounds maintenance tools and equipment (mowers, hedgers, augers, buffers, and climbing ladders).
  • Drives manual shift vehicles, electric and/or gas powered carts.
  • Follows the methods, materials and equipment used in maintaining the building and its surrounding area.
  • Performs surface preparation and painting of exterior walls.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
  • Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees.
  • Will work to supply maintenance to Burco. This would include, but, is not  limited to:
    • Company owned vehicles & equipment.
    • Physical building repair/maintenance.
    • Ground maintenance.
    • Grease machines, and add oil if needed.
    • Clean presses and press trays.
